Hailing from Belleville, Ontario, Parkhurst began his acting journey in local community theatre with Quinte Stage Productions. He earned a scholarship to study musical theatre at Sheridan College, where he honed his skills. Parkhurst's stage credits include notable performances in productions like Blood Brothers, Panto of the Opera, The Songs of Sinatra, Godspell, The Fox on the Fairway, and All Shook Up.
