Greg Wise is an English actor and producer, born on May 15, 1966, in Newcastle upon Tyne. He is known for his appearances in various British television programmes and feature films. Wise gained recognition for his role as John Willoughby in Sense and Sensibility, alongside his later wife Emma Thompson. He studied architecture at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh before pursuing a career in acting. Wise attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, where he studied drama. He began his professional career on stage, starring in the musical Good Rockin' Tonight. Wise has also appeared in several BBC period dramas, including The Moonstone, The Buccaneers, Madame Bovary, and The Riff Raff Element.
