Gretchen Corbett is an American actress and theater director, born on August 13, 1945. She gained recognition for her television roles, notably as attorney Beth Davenport on the NBC series The Rockford Files. Alongside her successful TV career, Corbett has also made a name for herself in the theater world. She has appeared on Broadway in productions such as After the Rain (1967) and Forty Carats (1968), sharing the stage with Julie Harris. Corbett has also performed off-Broadway, starring in the title role of Iphigenia in Aulis (1968) and as Joan la Pucelle in Shakespeare's Henry VI at Central Park's Delacorte Theater in 1970. Originally from Oregon, Corbett studied drama at Carnegie Mellon University and began her acting career at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
