Guy Rupert Berryman is a Scottish musician, songwriter, and designer, known for his role as the bassist in the rock band Coldplay and electronic supergroup Apparatjik. Born on April 12, 1978, in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, Berryman developed a love for music at a young age and drew inspiration from artists such as James Brown, Kool & the Gang, and the Funk Brothers. Alongside his music career, Berryman launched the fashion label Applied Art Forms in 2020, where he serves as the creative director and designer. Coldplay, formed at University College London, gained global fame with their debut album Parachutes in 2000. Berryman has been a part of Coldplay's success, winning seven Grammy Awards and nine Brit Awards. With over 100 million albums sold worldwide, Coldplay is considered the most successful group of the 21st century.
