Gwendoline Christie

Gwendoline Christie is an English actress born on October 28, 1978, in Worthing, West Sussex. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Brienne of Tarth in the HBO series Game of Thrones from 2012 to 2019. Additionally, she played the role of Captain Phasma, a First Order stormtrooper, in the Star Wars films The Force Awakens (2015) and The Last Jedi (2017). In 2019, Christie received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in Game of Thrones. She has also appeared in the Netflix fantasy series The Sandman and Wednesday in 2022. Prior to her acting career, Christie trained as a gymnast and later transitioned to acting after a spinal injury.
