Gys de Villiers

Gys de Villiers, born Dirk Gysbert de Villiers on 4 November 1960 in Roodepoort, South Africa, is a versatile South African actor, musician, sculptor, and writer. He comes from a family deeply rooted in the entertainment industry, with his father, Dirk de Villiers, being a renowned film director, and his mother, Addy de Villiers, an accomplished actress. Gys is best known for his notable roles in popular television soap operas Binnelanders and 7de Laan, as well as for his appearances in films such as Traitors, Vehicle 19, On the Wire, and Inside Out. Despite starting a bachelor's degree in drama, Gys discontinued his studies after one year. He is married to Jaci Smith, and they have lived in various locations, including Linden, Westdene, Knysna, and Johannesburg throughout their relationship.
