Hal Holbrook (1925-2021) was an American actor known for his versatile performances in film, television, and theater. He gained critical acclaim for his one-man stage show, Mark Twain Tonight!, which he developed while studying at Denison University. Holbrook won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play in 1966 for his portrayal of Mark Twain. He continued to perform this role for over six decades, retiring in 2017 due to health reasons.
