Hannah Gadsby

Hannah Gadsby (born 1978) is an Australian comedian, writer, and actor. They gained recognition after winning the national final of the Raw Comedy competition in 2006. Gadsby's 2018 show Nanette, available on Netflix, received critical acclaim and won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special and a Peabody Award. They continued their success with the internationally toured show Douglas, released on Netflix in 2020. In 2021, Gadsby received an honorary doctorate from the University of Tasmania. They also appeared as a recurring cast member in Netflix's Sex Education as Celia, a radio show host. Gadsby's memoir, Ten Steps to Nanette, was published in March 2022.
