Hans Conried Biography
Hans Conried (April 15, 1917 – January 5, 1982) was an American actor and comedian. He is best known for his roles as George Darling and Captain Hook in Walt Disney's Peter Pan (1953), Snidely Whiplash in Jay Ward's Dudley Do-Right cartoons, and Professor Waldo P. Wigglesworth in Ward's Hoppity Hooper cartoons. Conried also hosted Ward's show 'Fractured Flickers' and portrayed Professor Kropotkin in the radio and film versions of My Friend Irma. On television, he appeared as Uncle Tonoose on Danny Thomas' sitcom Make Room for Daddy and made two appearances on I Love Lucy. Conried studied acting at Columbia University and began his career in radio before transitioning to stage and screen.
