Harold Gould Biography
Harold Vernon Goldstein, better known as Harold Gould, was an American character actor. He appeared in numerous film and television roles throughout his nearly 50-year career. Gould is best known for his portrayal of Martin Morgenstern on the sitcom Rhoda (1974–78) and Miles Webber on the sitcom The Golden Girls (1985–92). With five Emmy Award nominations, he was recognized for his exceptional talent. Gould's elegant and well-dressed persona made him a sought-after actor, often cast as Jewish characters and grandfather figures. He appeared in over 300 television shows, 20 major motion pictures, and more than 100 stage plays. Born in Schenectady, New York, Gould was valedictorian of his high school class and studied at Albany Teachers College.
