Harry Alfred Bartell (November 29, 1913 – February 26, 2004) was an American actor and announcer known for his work in radio, television, and film. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Bartell began his career in radio, joining the staff of KWKW radio as an announcer in 1942. He soon moved to California and became a favorite of producer/director Norman MacDonnell, appearing frequently on Escape and Gunsmoke. Bartell was a leading member of the Gunsmoke repertory company, portraying a range of characters from friendly townspeople to victims and heavies. His career spanned from the early 1940s until the end of network radio drama in the 1960s.
