Harvey Shield Biography
Harvey Shield, born Harvey Schildkraut on 6 September 1946, is an English musician, songwriter, and actor. He grew up in Wembley, London, and attended Harrow County School, where he played drums in the Cadet Pipe Band. It was there that he met Roger Glover and together they formed a beat group called the Madisons. The Madisons later merged with another school group and became known as Episode Six in 1964. While with Episode Six, Shield recorded six singles, appeared on Ready Steady Go!, and toured with Alan Price and Dusty Springfield. In 1967, he left the band to pursue a career with Greek dancer and singer, Natasha Koumianou. Glover and Gillan also left the band to join Deep Purple.
