Harvey Vernon (June 30, 1927 – October 9, 1996) was an American actor from Flint, Michigan. Born as Chet Smith, Vernon is best known for his role as Jasper DeWitt in the television series Carter Country. Throughout his career, he appeared in various motion pictures, including MacArthur, Teen Wolf, and Someone to Watch Over Me. Vernon also made notable guest appearances on popular TV shows such as The Rockford Files, The Dukes of Hazzard, Cagney & Lacey, Touched by an Angel, Highway to Heaven, The Golden Girls, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (in the episode 'Equilibrium'), and The Larry Sanders Show.
