Hayley Squires (born April 16, 1988) is an English actress and playwright. She gained recognition for her role in the Ken Loach film I, Daniel Blake. Squires has appeared in various TV shows including Call the Midwife, Southcliffe, Complicit, and Murder. In addition to her acting career, Squires wrote her first play, Vera Vera Vera, which was produced by the Royal Court Theatre in 2012. I, Daniel Blake received critical acclaim and won several awards, including the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Squires was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the BAFTAs. She studied acting at Rose Bruford College and graduated in 2010.
