Hazelle Goodman Biography
Hazelle Goodman, born Hazel Goodman, is an actress hailing from Trinidad and Tobago. Inspired by The Sound of Music, she pursued a career in acting and moved to New York where she was raised in Queens and Brooklyn. After completing her degree in drama from City College of New York, Goodman spent seven years creating her one-woman show, Hazelle!. The show was adapted for HBO in 1995, earning her two Cable Ace nominations. In 1997, she made history as the first black actress to have a prominent role in a Woody Allen film with her portrayal of Cookie in Deconstructing Harry. Goodman also had a recurring role on Homicide: Life on the Street. Her stage credits include portraying the Queen in Shakespeare's Cymbeline.
