Heida Reed

Heida Reed, born Heiða Rún Sigurðardóttir on May 22, 1988, is an Icelandic actress and model. She gained recognition for her roles in various productions such as One Day, Jo (2013), Silent Witness (2014), and the popular BBC drama Poldark. Born and raised in Breiðholt, Reykjavík, Reed is the middle child of a music teacher father and a dental hygienist mother. After being discovered by an Icelandic modeling agency at the age of 18, she spent two years working as a model in India. Reed then moved to London at 19/20 to study drama at Drama Centre London, graduating in 2010. In 2009, she made her debut performance in an Edinburgh Fringe production of Camus's Cross Purpose. Reed is currently engaged to producer Sam Ritzenberg.
