Helen Reddy (25 October 1941-29 September 2020) was an Australian-American singer, actress, television host, and activist. Born in Melbourne, she began her career at the age of four and gained recognition after winning a talent contest on the television program Bandstand in 1966. Reddy moved to Los Angeles and released her debut singles 'One Way Ticket' and 'I Believe in Music' in 1968 and 1970. She signed with Capitol Records and achieved international success in the 1970s, placing 15 singles on the Billboard Hot 100. Reddy was known for her empowering anthem 'I Am Woman,' which became a feminist anthem. In addition to her music career, she appeared in various films and TV shows.
