Born on April 17, 1967, in Trujillo, Peru, he is best known for his portrayal of Desmond in the popular ABC television series Lost, which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. Cusick has appeared in various television shows and films throughout his career, including playing Jesus in The Gospel of John, Stephen Finch in Scandal, Marcus Kane in The 100, Dr. Jonas Lear in The Passage, and Russell 'Russ' Taylor in MacGyver. Raised in various countries, including Spain, Scotland, and Trinidad and Tobago, Cusick attended Presentation College in San Fernando before moving to Scotland. He later studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
