Henry Mancini, born Enrico Nicola Mancini, was an American composer, conductor, arranger, pianist, and flautist. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest composers in the history of film. Mancini received numerous accolades throughout his career, including four Academy Awards, a Golden Globe, and twenty Grammy Awards. In 1995, he was posthumously awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Mancini is best known for his work on the Peter Gunn television series, The Pink Panther film series, and his composition of the iconic song 'Moon River' from Breakfast at Tiffany's. He frequently collaborated with director Blake Edwards, and his arrangement of the 'Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet' topped the Hot 100 chart in 1969.
