Herta Ware Biography
Herta Ware (June 9, 1917 – August 15, 2005) was an American actress and activist. Born as Herta Schwartz in Wilmington, Delaware, she began her career on Broadway, making her debut in Let Freedom Ring in 1935. She appeared in several other plays alongside her husband, Will Geer. Ware also had a few short-lived Broadway appearances. In addition to her acting career, Ware was involved in activism. She was the daughter of Helen Ware, a musician, and Laszlo Schwartz, an actor. Ware's maternal uncle, Harold Ware, was part of the Soviet spy ring, and her maternal grandmother, Ella Reeve Bloor, was a labor organizer and socialist. Ware died on August 15, 2005.
