In American cinema, he had a notable role as rebel star-pilot Arvel Crynyd (Green Leader) in Return of the Jedi, although uncredited. In the UK, he appeared in prominent films such as The French Lieutenant's Woman and Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan. McRae has also showcased his talent in various musicals on the London stage, including Mamma Mia! and Miss Saigon, where he portrayed The Engineer.
