Hisham Tawfiq Biography
Hisham Tawfiq (born May 17, 1970) is an American actor known for his portrayal of Dembe Zuma in NBC's The Blacklist. Born in New York City, Tawfiq discovered his passion for the arts while performing in high school. He honed his skills at the Negro Ensemble Company and trained under coach Susan Batson. Prior to his acting career, Tawfiq served in the U.S. Marines during Operation Desert Storm and worked as a corrections officer at Sing Sing Correctional Facility. Additionally, he dedicated 20 years to the New York City Fire Department as a firefighter. Tawfiq has also showcased his talent in theater productions such as Intimate Apparel and A Raisin in the Sun.
