Howard Goodall Biography
Howard Lindsay Goodall (born May 26, 1958) is an English composer known for his work in musicals, choral music, and television. He has received numerous awards for his music-based programs on television and radio, including being named 'Composer-in-Residence' with Classic FM in 2008. Goodall's talent has earned him the title of 'Composer of the Year' at the Classic BRIT Awards in 2009. Born in Bromley, Kent, Goodall attended New College School and later Stowe School and Lord Williams's School. He studied music at Christ Church, Oxford, where he achieved a first-class degree. Goodall is married to classical music agent Val Fancourt, and they have two daughters. In addition to his musical career, Goodall was part of the band Half Brother in the late 1970s, producing an LP album titled 'Half Brother' in 1978.
