Some of his notable roles in the 2000s include appearances in Pushing Daisies and The Starter Wife. Born as Howard Mendelsohn in New York City, Mann graduated from the City College of New York and received training in acting and comedy from renowned figures such as Zero Mostel, Herbert Berghof, and William Hickey. He initially started his career as a comedian, performing in the Jewish entertainers circuit in the Catskill Mountains. Throughout his career, Mann made numerous television appearances, including Laverne & Shirley, Alice, and Moonlighting.
