Huey Lewis Biography
Huey Lewis, born Hugh Anthony Cregg III on July 5, 1950, is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He is best known as the lead singer and harmonica player of his band, Huey Lewis and the News. Lewis has also written or co-written many of the band's songs. The band gained significant popularity with their third album, Sports, and their contribution to the soundtrack of the 1985 film Back to the Future. Prior to forming his own band, Lewis played with the band Clover. Born in New York City, Lewis was raised in Marin County, California. He attended schools in the area, including Strawberry Point Elementary School and Edna Maguire Junior High School in Mill Valley.
