Hugh Bonneville Biography
Hugh Richard Bonniwell Williams, professionally known as Hugh Bonneville, is an English actor. Born on November 10, 1963, in Paddington, London, he attended Dulwich College Preparatory School and Sherborne School. Bonneville studied theology at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham, in the ITV series Downton Abbey from 2010 to 2015. This role earned him a Golden Globe nomination, two Primetime Emmy Award nominations, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards. Bonneville reprised his character in the feature films Downton Abbey (2019) and Downton Abbey: A New Era (2022). He has also appeared in notable films such as Notting Hill (1999), Iris (2001), The Monuments Men (2014), and the Paddington films (2014–2023).
