Hunter Biden is an American attorney and businessman born on February 4, 1970. He has worked as a hedge fund principal, venture capital and private equity fund investor, banker, lobbyist, and legal representative for lobbying firms. Biden is the second son of U.S. President Joe Biden and his first wife, Neilia Hunter Biden. After a tragic car crash in 1972, which took the lives of his mother and sister and left him and his older brother seriously injured, Biden struggled with drug and alcohol abuse. He was discharged from the U.S. Navy Reserve due to a failed drug test. Biden was a founding board member of BHR Partners, a Chinese investment company, and served on the board of Burisma Holdings, a significant private natural gas producer in Ukraine.
