    Hy Averback (1920-1997) was an American actor, producer, and director. Born in Minneapolis, he moved to California with his family at a young age. Averback began his career as a radio announcer, working for stations such as KMPC Beverly Hills. During World War II, he served in the Armed Forces Radio Service, entertaining troops with comedy and music. After his discharge, Averback became known as an announcer, notably for the Jack Paar radio show and Bob Hope on NBC. In addition to his work as an actor, Averback transitioned into producing and directing, leaving behind a legacy in the entertainment industry.
