I. F. Stone
Isidor Feinstein Stone (December 24, 1907 – June 18, 1989) was an American investigative journalist, writer, and author. Stone is best known for his politically progressive views and his publication, I. F. Stone's Weekly (1953–1971), which was ranked 16th among the top hundred works of journalism in the U.S. in the twentieth century. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Jewish Russian immigrants, Stone attended Haddonfield High School where he began his career as a journalist by founding The Progress newspaper. Throughout his career, Stone worked for various publications, including the Haddonfield Press and Camden Courier-Post, before gaining recognition for his investigative journalism in I. F. Stone's Weekly.
