Ian Beattie

Ian Beattie (born March 3, 1965) is a Northern Irish actor known for his roles in film and television. He started his acting career at a young age, touring Northern Ireland with his father's circus. Beattie gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Ser Meryn Trant in the critically acclaimed HBO series Game of Thrones, appearing in the show for five seasons. He has also appeared in various other television and film projects, including playing Antigonus in Oliver Stone's Alexander and Beorhtwulf of Mercia in an episode of Vikings. Additionally, Beattie has showcased his talent on stage, starring in the play Demented at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast.
