Iko Uwais

Iko Uwais, born Uwais Qorny, is an Indonesian actor, stuntman, fight choreographer, and martial artist. He gained fame for his roles in action films such as Merantau (2009), The Raid (2011), The Raid 2 (2014), Headshot (2016), Mile 22 (2018), The Night Comes for Us (2018), and Stuber (2019). Uwais is also known for his role in the Netflix series Wu Assassins (2019–present). Born in Jakarta, Uwais comes from a family with a martial arts background, as his grandfather was a silat master who founded a silat school. He was discovered by director Gareth Evans while filming a documentary about silat, leading to his breakout role in Merantau.
