Iman

Iman Mohamed Abdulmajid, known mononymously as Iman, is a Somali-American model and actress. Born on July 25, 1955, in Mogadishu, Somalia, she was raised as a Muslim and later renamed Iman at her grandfather's suggestion. She is the daughter of Mariam and Mohamed Abdulmajid, with her father serving as the Somali ambassador to Saudi Arabia. Iman has two brothers and two sisters and was the first girl in her family in six generations. She became a muse for renowned designers like Gianni Versace, Thierry Mugler, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, and Yves Saint Laurent. Iman is also known for her philanthropic work. She was married to rock musician David Bowie from 1992 until his death in 2016.
