Irene Bedard Biography
Irene Bedard is an American actress, born on July 22, 1967, known for her lead Native American roles in various films. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Suzy Song in the 1998 film Smoke Signals and as the speaking voice of Pocahontas in the 1995 animated film of the same name. Bedard reprised her role as Pocahontas in Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World (1998) and made a cameo appearance in Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018). Born in Anchorage, Alaska, Bedard is of Iñupiat and French Canadian/Cree (Métis) heritage. She graduated from Dimond High School in Anchorage and studied musical theater at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
