Irina Shabayeva

Irina Shabayeva is a Georgian-Russian fashion designer, best known for winning the sixth season of Project Runway. She was born in Georgia and has a diverse heritage of Georgian, Jewish, and Russian descent. Shabayeva's favorite designer is Jean Paul Gaultier, and she attributes her success to her feminine instincts and multicultural background. In Project Runway season six, she won three challenges and ultimately emerged as the winner with her New York-inspired woman warrior collection. Notably, the season finale featured three designers who had not been in the bottom three throughout the season. Shabayeva has also designed numerous ready-to-wear and couture collections, including Selena Gomez's butterfly dress for the 2011 People's Choice Awards.More
