J Balvin

J Balvin, born José Álvaro Osorio Balvín on 7 May 1985, is a Colombian singer known as the 'Prince of Reggaeton.' With over 35 million records sold worldwide, Balvin is one of the best-selling Latin artists. He was born in Medellín and moved to the United States at age 17 to learn English, living in Oklahoma and New York. Balvin gained popularity performing at clubs in Medellín. Throughout his career, he has won numerous awards including eleven Billboard Latin Music Awards, six Latin Grammy Awards, five MTV Video Music Awards, and seven Latin American Music Awards. Recognized for his contribution to Latin music worldwide, Balvin received the first Global Icon Award from Lo Nuestro Awards.
