Jack Burns Biography
Jack Burns (November 15, 1933 – January 27, 2020) was an American comedian, actor, voice actor, writer, and producer. He gained recognition during the 1960s as part of two comedy partnerships, first with George Carlin and later with Avery Schreiber. In 1965, Burns had a short stint as Warren Ferguson, Barney Fife's replacement on The Andy Griffith Show. By the 1970s, he transitioned to working behind the camera as a writer and producer on comedy series like The Muppet Show and Hee Haw. Prior to his comedy career, Burns served in the United States Marine Corps from 1952 to 1954. He made his start in comedy in 1959 with George Carlin in Fort Worth, Texas.
