Jack Elam Biography
Jack Elam (1920-2003) was an American film and television actor. He gained fame for his roles as villains in Western films and later in his career, comedies. Elam had a distinguishing physical feature, a misaligned eye. Before pursuing acting, he worked in finance and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Throughout his career, Elam appeared in 73 movies and at least 41 television series. Born in Miami, Arizona, he was the son of Alice Amelia and Millard Elam. Elam's father supported the family through various jobs, including carpentry and accounting. Elam's mother passed away when he was four years old.
