Jack Garrity Biography
John Paul 'Jack' Garrity (April 1, 1926 – August 31, 2015) was an American ice hockey player. He represented the United States in the 1948 Winter Olympics. Garrity had a successful career in hockey, playing at the high school, college, and senior levels. He coached high school hockey for 10 years and also served as a referee for high school and NCAA college games for 20 years. In addition, Garrity taught at hockey camps until the age of 70. He was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 1986. Garrity is known for designing and publishing one of America's first hockey scorebooks, which gained popularity in local schools during the 1950s and 1960s.
