    Jack Ward Pendarvis is an American screenwriter, author, and voice actor. He is best known for his work on the animated programs Adventure Time and SpongeBob SquarePants. Born on July 8, 1963, in Mobile, Alabama, Pendarvis has contributed as a columnist for magazines such as Oxford American and The Believer. He has also written articles, including book reviews, for publications like the LA Review of Books and the New York Times. Pendarvis currently resides in Oxford, Mississippi. In addition to his work in television, he has authored several books, including 'The Mysterious Secret of the Valuable Treasure' and 'Cigarette Lighter.' His short stories have been published by McSweeney's, Nerve, The Believer, and MacAdam/Cage.
