Jack Sheldon (November 30, 1931 – December 27, 2019) was an American musician, singer, and actor. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Sheldon gained fame in the 1950s West Coast jazz movement, collaborating with notable artists like Stan Kenton and Art Pepper. He played the trumpet and sang, and later became known as the sidekick on The Merv Griffin Show, where he also led the band. Sheldon's distinctive voice made him a household name through his appearances on the educational TV series Schoolhouse Rock!, notably in the iconic episodes 'Conjunction Junction' and 'I'm Just a Bill'.
