    Jack Walker Biography
    Jack Walker (19 May 1929 – 17 August 2000) was a British industrialist and businessman. Born in Blackburn, Walker left school at 13 and worked his way up in the sheet metal industry. He took over his family's sheet metal business in 1951 and turned it into a major player in the steel industry, eventually becoming the largest steel stockholder in Britain. By 1990, Walkersteel employed 3,400 people at 50 sites and generated an annual profit of £48 million. In addition to his business ventures, Walker was the owner and benefactor of Blackburn Rovers Football Club, leading them to win the 1994–95 FA Premier League.
