Jackie Burroughs Biography
Jackie Burroughs (2 February 1939 – 22 September 2010) was a British-born Canadian actress. She began her acting career at Ontario's Stratford Festival and went on to appear in numerous films and TV shows. Some of her notable film credits include The Dead Zone (1983), The Grey Fox (1982), and Heavy Metal (1981). On television, she portrayed Mrs. Amelia Evans in Anne of Green Gables (1985) and Hetty King in Road to Avonlea (1990). Burroughs also ventured into directing, producing, and co-writing the film A Winter Tan (1987), for which she received a Genie Award for best performance by an actress in a leading role.
