Jackie Richardson Biography
Jackie Richardson is a Canadian singer and actress, born on January 4, 1947, in Donora, Pennsylvania. She is known for her roles in various screen productions, including Turning to Stone, The Gospel According to the Blues, The Doodlebops, and Sins of the Father. Richardson gained recognition for her appearance on the YTV show Catwalk, where she portrayed the grandmother to Atlas (Christopher Lee Clements). In addition to her acting career, she was a member of the 1960s Toronto-based girl group, The Tiaras. Richardson has been nominated three times for the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television Gemini Award and won the Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Dramatic Program or Mini-Series for The Gospel According to the Blues. She was also nominated for the NAACP Image Award for Best Actress in a Television Movie for Sins of the Father in 2003.
