James Cameron Biography
James Cameron is a Canadian filmmaker known for his innovation and use of novel technologies in the film industry. He gained recognition for writing and directing The Terminator (1984), Aliens (1986), The Abyss (1989), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), and True Lies (1994). Cameron wrote and directed Titanic (1997), which won him Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Film Editing. He also directed the groundbreaking film Avatar (2009) and its sequels. In addition to his film work, Cameron co-founded the production companies Lightstorm Entertainment, Digital Domain, and Earthship Productions. He has also produced numerous documentaries and is a National Geographic sea tourist.
