James Chinlund

James Chinlund (born March 17, 1971) is an American production designer. He began his career in film in New York City, working as a carpenter before becoming a Production Designer on music videos and independent films. Chinlund has collaborated with renowned directors such as Darren Aronofsky, Todd Solondz, Paul Schrader, and Spike Lee. In 2012, he worked on Marvel's The Avengers, which set a record for the highest grossing opening weekend. Since then, Chinlund has been nominated six times for Art Director's Guild Awards. He studied Fine Art at CalArts, focusing on sculpture and large scale installation art works. Born and raised in New York City, Chinlund continues to contribute to the film industry with his exceptional production design.
