    James Flavin Biography
    James Flavin (May 14, 1906 – April 23, 1976) was an American character actor known for his nearly half-century-long career in film and television. Born in Portland, Maine, Flavin attended the United States Military Academy before venturing into acting. In 1929, he filled in for an actor in a summer stock company and was offered a weekly salary to accompany the troupe back to New York. After working in stock productions and tours, Flavin made his way to Los Angeles in 1932 and quickly transitioned to movies. He landed his first lead role in the Universal serial 'The Airmail Mystery' (1932) and married his co-star, Lucile Browne, the same year.
