James Frain

James Dominic Frain (born 14 March 1968) is an English stage and screen actor. He is best known for his television roles, including Thomas Cromwell in the historical drama series The Tudors (2007–2009), Franklin Mott in True Blood (2010), and Sarek in Star Trek: Discovery (2017–2019). Frain has also appeared in other notable TV shows such as The White Queen (2013), The Tunnel (2013), Orphan Black (2015–2017), and Gotham (2015–2016). In film, he is recognized for his performances in Hilary and Jackie (1998), Elizabeth (1998), Titus (1999), and The Count of Monte Cristo (2002). Frain was born in Leeds, England.
