James Hanlon (born 1966) is an American actor and director, known for his work in movies and TV shows. He began his career as a New York City firefighter and later transitioned into the entertainment industry. Hanlon gained recognition for executive producing and directing the CBS documentary film 9/11. Born in the South Bronx, Hanlon grew up in New York City and attended Mount St. Michael Academy. He honed his acting skills at The Acting Studio and Chelsea Rep, and went on to perform in numerous plays in New York and regionally. Hanlon has also made guest appearances on various TV shows filmed in New York City. Additionally, he has worked at The New York Daily News in the advertising department.
