James Hetfield

James Alan Hetfield (born August 3, 1963) is an American musician and the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, co-founder, and primary songwriter of the heavy metal band Metallica. Known for his intricate rhythm playing, Hetfield occasionally performs lead guitar duties and solos. Co-founding Metallica in 1981, the band has achieved great success, winning nine Grammy Awards and releasing numerous albums and singles. Hetfield is highly regarded as one of the greatest heavy metal rhythm guitar players of all time. He has been recognized by various publications, ranking as one of the greatest metal guitarists and vocalists in history. Guitar World placed him 19th on their list of the greatest guitarists of all time.
