James Hong Biography
James Hong (born February 22, 1929) is an American actor, producer, and director. With a career spanning over six decades, Hong has appeared in numerous productions in the U.S. media since the 1950s. He is recognized as one of the most prolific character actors of all time. In addition to his acting work, Hong co-founded East West Players, the first Asian American theatre organization in the United States, to promote Asian American representation in the industry. He gained popularity through his roles in prominent TV shows such as The New Adventures of Charlie Chan, Hawaii Five-O, Bonanza, Perry Mason, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., I Spy, and Kung Fu. In 2022, Hong was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contributions to the American film and television industries.
